1,000th Day

On Monday, while the rest of the school celebrates the 100th day of school, our 5th graders will be celebrating a very special milestone—their 1,000th day of school!

Let’s do the math. From kindergarten through 4th grade, students complete five years of school. Five years multiplied by 180 school days equals 900 days. Add the 100th day of 5th grade, and that brings us to 1,000 days of learning. Congratulations to our 5th graders on being 1,000 days smarter!

In honor of this milestone, over the past two weeks the BES families were asked to donate in hopes of helping the 5th graders reach their goal of $1,000 for Happiness is Camping. Thanks to your generosity, our school community collected a total of $573. A special thank you to Matthew Rumore' and his family, who donated $100. Happiness Is Camping is a non-profit summer camp that provides camping experiences for children with cancer and their families. Because of your kindness, some children will now be able to attend camp at no cost.

Thank you to everyone who donated and supported this cause. Please remember to be thankful for our amazing Blairstown community—and most importantly, for your health.
