Friends Giving

Wednesday, November 26th, students came together to celebrate community, gratitude, and cross-grade connections during a special Friendsgiving gathering between the 5th grade and 3rd grade classes. The event paired older and younger students for an afternoon filled with conversation, activities, and shared appreciation. Fifth graders were treated to 3rd Grade's Reader's Theater, and then the 5th graders served them a Friendsgiving meal, like the one from Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving. Once students were served with their plate of goodies, they enjoyed the light snack together, while watching the movie. Everyone enjoyed Snoopy and his shannengans. It’s heartwarming to see students build relationships across grade levels and take time to reflect on what they are thankful for. Teachers noted that the event not only fosters social-emotional learning but also encourages leadership among 5th graders and builds confidence in younger students. Laughter, smiles, and meaningful conversations filled the classrooms as buddies created lasting memories. As the holiday season approaches, BES is proud to highlight the kindness and generosity demonstrated by its students for Friendsgiving.
