Last year a check of  $1,600 was given to “Operation Chillout”, which is an all-volunteer not-for-profit homeless veterans outreach program.  Their purpose is to help veterans-in-need and to end homelessness in the general public.

The organization is building  “Tiny Houses” for  Warren County veterans.  The money we donate will be  used to purchase needed items.

The project is sponsored by BES’s Student Council.  In addition, the entire school will be involved in making cards thanking the veterans for their service.  Staff members will also be  involved by  holding a “Dress-Casual” Day and donating the money for this project.

November 11th will  be our “Operation Chillout” Kickoff Day. We are asking each student to bring in $2.00 to be used toward reaching our goal.  Can we surpass last year’s donations? Any amount, smaller or larger, will be appreciated.  We will continue collecting money through November 15th. We are also asking everyone to wear red, white, and blue on Monday to honor our veterans.
