Hello BES Families,
It is with great pleasure and pride that I write to you to introduce myself as the new principal of the Blairstown Elementary School. It is an honor to have been selected to be a part of the BES community. Before joining BES I served in a variety of educational roles. The past seven years I have been the Director of Curriculum and Instruction in the Wharton Public Schools, a preK through eight district. Prior to that I worked as both a special education and general education teacher working with students in grades five through eight.
My academic background includes a Master of Education in Special Education, a Masters of Education in Instructional Leadership, a Post-Bachelorette in Education, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Business and Finance. Lastly, I am working on the completion of my dissertation on the impact standards based grading has on classroom instruction, as the final step towards earning my Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I am excited to bring my educational experiences to Blairstown and look forward to partnering with you to help our students succeed.
As the mother of two girls, ages 10 and 12, I know the importance of having a strong home-school connection. In partnership with the teachers and staff, I will continue to foster strong relationships with parents, students, and the community. We will continue focusing on the use of data driven instructional practices while consistently implementing the curriculum in a rigorous manner, while still incorporating social emotional learning.
I look forward to getting to know each of you as I immerse myself in our school and community. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.
Your partner in education,
