Superintendent - Dr. Patrick Ketch

Parents, Guardians, Staff and Students,

“Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow”.

-Anthony J. D'Angelo

I am very excited to begin my new position as superintendent at Blairstown Elementary School district! The 2020 year has been very challenging in many aspects in our lives. The educational world has been turned upside down but our goal is to continue to have high educational expectations for all students. I look forward to working with all stakeholders to enhance student learning and achievement as well as providing a positive and safe learning environment for all students. Our goal is to get students back on track for 2021.

I come to BES with eleven years of administrative experience. I was a vice principal for three years in Hamburg before moving to the MacKinnon Middle School in Wharton as their principal. Prior to my administrative journey, I began my educational career as a social studies teacher. I have worked in an array of settings including urban as well suburban districts. Also, I have had the opportunity to work with a variety of students from pre-k through high school. I firmly believe one must always have the drive and ambition to better themselves both personally and professionally. I have continued throughout my career to continue my education as I have a doctorate in Irish history from Drew University as well as my doctorate in education from Centenary University. I attended Saint Peter's University for my Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership and have my Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of Delaware.

As an educational leader, my aim is to create active citizens that consciously interact with the world around them and become a contributing part of society. We want students to be able to think for themselves, engage in discovering global issues, and to develop educated positions on such. I am an advocate of incorporating technology into the classroom to engage our students with rigorous and differentiated lessons that enhance student achievement. My aim is to achieve all district goals at a high level through data analysis and by creating a positive climate and culture.

There will be many changes for the upcoming school year. Please be sure to download our school app, check out our facebook page as well as our school website. Please be patient as we try to navigate our way through these difficult and challenging times. Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Dr. Patrick Ketch, Superintendent
